My name is Jess, a Mexican-American illustrator and designer currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Online, I create under the name Scion Illustration.

“Scion,” meaning a young shoot or twig used in grafting, is a fitting name for my creative process. I love bringing different ideas, influences, and little details together to grow something new. My work is inspired by nature, botanical motifs, vintage aesthetics, playful color palettes, and a healthy dose of whimsy.

I primarily work across apparel, illustration, graphic design, and gallery projects, creating everything from illustrated products and graphics to prints and personal artwork. I’m always excited to explore new creative directions, learn new things, and add a few more tools to my ever-growing toolbox.
